The festival at Almagro takes place in the Corral de Comedias, as well as in the two other theatres (Modern and 19th Century) and within many of the other buildings in town, many of which are not normally accessible by the public. On this day, the churches along the coast take their statues of the virgin - some of them very big - and take them on a procession down to the sea. The exact procedure varies, but often, a mass is said by the sea, before the virgin is taken out to sea in a small fishing boat, and the fishes are blessed in her presence.
