Accommodation at AmigosSet in the lower Alpujarra Mountains bordering the National Park with the Sierra Nevada range beyond. With traditional whitewashed houses, narrow twisting streets and lanes. The pace of life is relaxed, the old rural ways can still be seen, with donkeys ridden out to the fields, returning into the village before dusk. The church with bell tower is a key feature, adjoining the big square containing the council offices, café and tapas bars. The small square close by has a bank with an ATM, shops, houses and car parking. Few tourists come and the villages character remains unspoilt.
Building a house in the Eastern Alpujarras ( 85 visits so far )The pages are organised chronologically, starting with a description of Canjayar, where we are now living. There follows a description of the finca (farm) that we have brought and the building of our new cortijo (house).
