The town of CartavioCartavio, -(Cartayo, Cartabio) - is a village half way between the rivers Navia and Porcia. For many years, it was the most important town in the area. Its origin is not known from any of the ancient documents, so stories about it's beginning are mainly guesswork. According to Latin and Greek texts, the River Navia area was inhabited by the Albions, and Porcia was inhabited by the Cibarcos, Galician tribes both of which, no doubt, are of Celtic origin.
