Madrazo Language School (MLS) is a medium sized independant language school, situated in the centre of Madrid. It was founded in 1997 so that a group of English and Spanish teachers could gain some teaching experience. The mission of MLS is to provide high quality professional teaching, mainly to business people. El Corte Inglés takes its name from a shop that specialised in children's tailoring, founded in Madrid in 1890. It was located between the streets of Preciados, Carmen and Rompelanzas. In 1934, Mr. Ramón Areces Rodríguez, founder of El Corte Inglés, S.A., bought the tailor's shop, made it a private limited company and began his business career. Following the Spanish Civil War in 1939, a new phase began, representing the first progressive development of what today is Grupo El Corte Inglés. Property was acquired at number 3, Calle Preciados at the corner of Tetuán, of which the ground, first and part of the second floor were dedicated to sales. On 24 June 1940 the company became a public limited company. There were a total of seven employees.

The Uralita Group continues with firm steps its march towards its centenary since its first industrial plant was built in 1907, taking the name of Uralita, S.A. in the year 1910. The fifty or so companies that currently make up the Group are organised into five specialised Divisions which, through an extensive commercial and industrial network, lead the Spanish market in construction materials and have an ever more notable presence in foreign countries and external markets, particularly Europe and South America.
