Site Language  Julia Holley's Art Workshop ( 234 visits so far )

We have moved the workshop from the Coast to the Countryside! For all sorts of reasons, not least of all to escape the 'busyness' of a major coastal town. We have replaced the hustle and bustle with ultimate peace and quiet, broken only by the chirruping of the birdies and the croaking of the frogs! The new workshop is spacious and airy and it is as close as you will get to painting outdoors with oils without getting bugs stuck to your wet picture! Around you at the workshop you will find all the glory of Mediterranean plants and flowers, the vibrant bougainvillea with its magentas and purples to Stephanotis and Jasmine with their white flowers and heady scents. The warm climate allows us to grow tropical plants for which we have created watery corners to provide humidity.

Site Language  Andalucian Painting Holidays ( 220 visits so far )

We are well into our 3rd year and enjoying every minute. It has been so exciting and rewarding in many ways. We have a community of friends here and many of our guests have also become great friends. We have welcomed back "return-ers" and some have already booked up for the 3rd time. Even a few of our guests have made Ojen destination for longer stays with a view to perhaps move here! Such is it's charisma and draw. Personal attention on our painting holidays is paramount and therefore we accommodate for small groups of up to 8 people. The tuition is set at each student's own level of ability, catering for beginners and for the more accomplished artist. Through my father's teaching and my own research, I use techniques which are all but lost to today's teaching establishments.

Site Language  Living on the Edge ( 372 visits so far )

In a strange and magical turn of events, we now own a piece of the rock. We are now living on the edge of a Nature Park, a rocky overhang of great height, soaring over the mighty Med. We are still within the township of Benitachell, just up the hill to the massive cape. Jose and I have nick-named our new neighbourhood, Beni-Hills;) It is actually called Cumbre del Sol... crest of the sun. Located at the extreme eastern edge of Spain, we get the sun first! The sunrises are wildly spectacular. The massive cape coastlines are picturesque with soaring rocks reaching up from carved seascapes. We have spotted many hawks and eagles.
