Sunland International School is an co-educational independent day school which serves students of all nationalities aged between three and fifteen years. Their academic programme, which is offered in an Andalucian setting, is based on the English National Curriculum Key stages 1- 4, although it also incorporates elements of the Spanish national curriculum.

The school is located in a secure and spacious forty thousand square metre campus located to the north west of Malaga. The Fundación para la Investigación Agraria en la Provincia de Almería (FIAPA) (Foundation for Agricultural Research in the Province of Almeria) came into existence, at the request of the Consejería de Agricultura y Pesca de la Junta de Andalucía (Andalusian Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries), by resolution of the "Consejo de Gobierno" of the Andalusian Government of 3rd February, 1988. It is registered in the Register of Foundations as private teaching foundation of public interest in virtue of the Statutory Order of 24th May, 1989 (Official Gazette of the Andalusian Government "BOJA" of 6th June, 1989) decreed by the Consejería de Educación y Ciencia (Andalusian Ministry of Education and Science).
