Sunday, 12th October, 2008 - Dia del la Hispanidad - Dia del la Hispanidad is the national day of Spain or Hispanic Day. It is held on October 12th every year, and commemorates the day when Christopher Columbus first landed in the Americas in 1492. To commemorate it, there is a parade led by the military (usually held in Madrid) presided by the Spanish King, who is the Head of State, since Spain is politically organized as a constitutional monarchy. The Presidente del Gobierno has also a special role in the ceremony, only second to the King. Then a wide array of authorities, from foreign diplomats deployed in Spain to members of the Autonomous governments, are invited to attend the parade and aerobatics performed by the Spanish Armed Forces.

I acknowledged that art comes from the heart and soul, switched on the music which makes the blood in my veins sing … and now happily paint free-spirited horses"

Site Language  Enjoy Barcelona with kids in Barcelona

As a new parent living in Barcelona, Emma began to realise how much the city has to offer, both activity-wise and culturally, for children. She discovered parks that previously she had never been to, soft play centres that she did not know existed and of course all the less obvious shops that she could go to in order to find exactly what she needed. She also realised that she was missing out on family activities at the museums and art centres, children's shows and workshops that were regularly being organised around town as she did not have a central place to find them.
