The Bridge at Estacion de Cartama
Cartama, Malaga, Andalucia, Spain
The iron bridge which joins Estacion de Cartama, on the north side of the Guadalhorce, to Cartama Pueblo, on the south side of the river.
The bridge is no longer used for traffic, a new one was built right next to it, downstream, and this carries all the road traffic. But the people of the village felt that this bridge was so iconic to the village, that it is kept, and is illuminated at night.
On the river bank, upstream, is a country park, where everyone goes for family days out, and fiestas. Barbeques have been built into the woods, and it's a great place to make noise and have fun.
